On April 20, 2020, the Board of Trustees recognized the contributions of Elder Dan Jackson (left), who served as the Chairman of the Oakwood University Board of Trustees for 10 years. He retired from the position as President of the North American Division, and the Spring Board Meeting 2020 was his last meeting as Chairman of the Oakwood Board of Trustees. Elder G. Alexander Bryant (right), was affirmed as Chairman of the Oakwood University Board of Trustees, effective April 20, 2020.

Dr. G. Alexander Bryant, President of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists, and Chairman of the Oakwood University Board of Trustees, announces the closure of an extremely difficult matter. On June 2, 2021, Federal District Judge Madeline Hughes Haikala, of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, entered two orders closing the court case 5:18-cv-00870-MHH Oakwood University Inc v. Oakwood University Alumni Association in accordance with the agreement of the parties.
